A book on "How to Build a Garden Shed" was used for ideas on how to build the loft since neither builder had ever constructed anything with wood in their lives.  The loft is in the center with flight cages on either side. The loft is 16 feet by 24 feet.  Each flight cage is 12 feet by 24 feet.  The original plans were to have each flight cage 24 feet by 24 feet, but the builders just plain ran out of steam to make them that large.
